I knew from the start the sleeves are a bit on the narrow side, so it changed them already on the first blouse, but this one was really like, uh, it doesn't fit at all... Despite all the troubles I'm pleased it looks decent (collar is still a bit of an issue).

I guess you feel the chilly weather too up in Norway, so this is maybe the last foot shooting in short sleeves for the year, but still, we had 20°C yesterday, which is far too warm for November. Almost like spring.Mrs. Doris Buttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04839503834598871835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3670691261909273507.post-85715515766058453502015-11-09T15:41:11.211+01:002015-11-09T15:41:11.211+01:00Lieben Dank! I've used that pattern a couple of times too, it is a nice pattern, but I've always felt like I need to alter it. The sleeves are too severe for me, but other than that, it is lovely. This look is so *you*! Well done :)PinhousePlaymatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17116223260537085062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3670691261909273507.post-18433070309437651642015-11-07T19:41:46.710+01:002015-11-07T19:41:46.710+01:00Hallo Doris!

There is a...Thanks for your kind comment, Juliana!

There is a huge hype about feedsacks currently (just have look at sky-rocketing prices on Ebay for example!), so I suspect there are many materials sold as feedsack that actually are NOT. I know, even though I don't claim to be THE expert, that there were prints that could be found on both, feedsacks and a slightly finer percale material that was available as yardage too. Usually, feedsack materials come along in rather small pieces anyway, so if it is a piece large enough to make a dress, it probably never was a sack. People back then had to buy several sacks of the same print to be able to make an entire dress, and today, if you are lucky, you sometime can find several of the same design - but it's extremely rare.

The jewelry is great, I agree, and definitely more affordable than the true original vintage item. There's nothing wrong about a well-made reproduction, and those pieces are really good quality. As I have also a navy blue of the same style, I can switch, depending what I'm wearing with the blouse.
Mrs. Doris Buttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04839503834598871835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3670691261909273507.post-73638402962640996392015-11-06T18:50:07.910+01:002015-11-06T18:50:07.910+01:00This is so gorgeous! I actually made a dress recently from some vintage fabric that the seller said was feedsack (and the print was def. in line with feedsacks) but I think it is actually percale. That said, I still love the dress, and was thrilled to find enough vintage novelty fabric for a whole dress!!

Your blouse looks great, and I love the matching brooch--I'm always trying to find jewelry to match my prints. :)Julianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09134771358325901297noreply@blogger.com
